A failed author means well but creates chaos. An unlucky soldier gets on the wrong train. A doctor conspires with his mistress to murder his wife. A gay man hates men - and women even more. Another gay man. A mysterious lady. Two nuns with religious doubts. All these are supervised by a pedantic conductor on a train non-stop Stockholm-Berlin 1945. This wonderful tale is both inventive and poignant, transposing the histry of Europe and its modern identity on the tranformation taking place immediately post WWII. You’re never quite sure where the film will stop next, not to mention what it will reveal, but the best part is that it never veers off track even as it moves from topics deathly serious to moderately suspenseful to fantastically, philosophically absurd.Peter Dalle is an actor, screenwriter and a director, working with both theatre and films. His earlier film directing credits are "The Dream House" (1993), "Yrrol" (1994) and "Unmarried Couples" (1997). -AHS
