From There to Here Directed and Produced by Vu Tran Executive Produced by Vy Le & Thu Tran Music by Truc Ho and Nahoko Yoshikawa When he was a child, Vu Tran’s father woke him up in the middle of the night in their Vietnam home. They traveled through the dark and boarded a boat. After seven days on the sea, Tran and his family arrived at a Hong Kong detention camp, which was surrounded with barbwires. This was the place which he called "home" for three years. He lost his childhood and education. After those three years, his family flew to the States, and moved into a home in Apple Valley. This 32 minute personal documentary tells of his journey to freedom. Moving In a Mirror Directed by Joanna Kohler Local documentarian Joanna Kohler captures the experiences of an activist in West Jerusalem over the last four years, since the rise of the second Intifada. A native of Israel, ?????? moved with her family to Minneapolis when she wasyoung. Feeling indebted to her privilege and her homeland, but adamently against Israeli occupation, she is forced to reevaluate her identity as a Jew, an American, an Israeli, and an activist.
