Stirring up one of the most hotly talked about murders in the film world in decades, we honor Theo Van Gogh with his last feature length effort. The film follows five young, mostly immigrant thugs who are convicted to do time in a new, tough institution. Close friends Abdel, Mohammed, Hamid, Jacky and Jeffrey are petty criminals. Abdel still looks up to a group of older kids, who are involved in more serious crime. He becomes involved with the bank clerk Mabel. She is the beautiful girlfriend of Prof, the leader of the criminals. Then Prof suggests organising a robbery together... Theo van Gogh made the action film Cool! with hip-hop musical accompaniment, together with pupils/inmates at the Glenn Mills School, a reform school for kids who have run amuck. The young cast is augmented with well-known actors such as Johnny de Mol and Katja Schuurman. The film shot in just 12 days, is a living testament to the abilities of our current takien too early talent. -AMThe great-great-grandson of Theo van Gogh, brother of the famous painter Vincent van Gogh. Victim of a shooting, apparently in response to the film "Submission", which was shown on Dutch television in August 2004. A longtime advocate for freedom of speech, he made many enemies on all sides of the political spectrum. In the morning hours of November 2nd, 2004, he was shot, stabbed and killed in a city street in Amsterdam
